Doppelganger of the chrysanthemum, some might say, this New York aster proudly offers small pompom-esque double flowers in a cornflower-purple hue in late summer and fall. These flowers adorn the compact, bushy form and contrast with the dark green foliage. This is a superb plant for mass plantings, container gardens, borders, and edges, where it will sing out with its intense violet color.
